In 2014 Hilco Industrial LLC and CBI (Core Business Industries) formed a joint venture called Hilco Industrial Acquisitions BV (Amsterdam) to buy distressed industrial assets, liquidate those which are no longer needed and continue the lucrative operations. Hilco Industrial Acquisitions BV is the European Acquisition Vehicle for Hilco Industrial LLC from the USA.
The new Hilco Industrial Acquisition team have a long history in the Heavy Industrial business, starting in 1970 when “Werkspoor”, a large industrial company, based in Amsterdam decided to withdraw from building the slow speed marine diesel engines and Robert Bouland purchased all of the Machinery from that division, the major machine was sold to General Electric, Steam Turbine Division in Schenectady, N.Y. (USA). About one year later “Kromhout” another manufacturer of Marine Diesel Engines closed their doors and we purchased all Machinery & Equipment, we continued to buy the assets from many of the Shipyards which closed their operations in The Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark.
Since the mid 80’s we started to revive the healthy parts of the defunct companies and operated factories in the UK, Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands. Throughout all these years we acquired the assets of many companies, who reorganized their activities or went out of business, not only in Europe, but also in Asia, Australia and the USA.
